Zeno Hot Spot
Review

The Zeno Hot
Spot is a thermal acne treatment device that uses heat to
penetrate your skin and zap pimples before they can mature.
The Hot Spot is a bit different from Zeno's original device
in that it is cheaper and disposable, no longer relying on
replaceable cartridges. It's also small and handy for taking
with you if you need to treat acne on the go.
According to
Zeno, the Hot Spot can clear some blemishes within an hour
and will visibly reduce 90% of pimples within 24 hours.
Using the device is painless and should not harm your skin.
You'll have to apply it to each individual blemish for 2 1/2
minutes, as often as 4 times per day (with mild spots, some
users get by with 2 or 3 daily uses). Results are also most
apparent for pimples that are caught in the early stages of
formation, before a visible pustule reaches the skin's
surface.
Each device is
good for 80 uses before you have to toss it out and purchase
a new one. Basically, the Zeno Hot Spot is a spot treatment,
with results similar to other spot treatments, but without
the mess or side effects of typical gels and creams.

Who should try
the Zeno Hot Spot
Despite the
negatives, I like Zeno. It's an easy device to recommend for
people with mild acne who don't have to worry about treating
too many blemishes at once, but rather just need a solution
for the rare "emergency" pimple. From user reviews, some
people do respond better than others, but for most the
results are generally positive. The Zeno Hot Spot will also
come in handy for those whose skin has built up a resistance
to the drugs used by the leading spot treatments, such as
benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid. If those chemicals are
no longer giving you decent results and you still need a
spot treatment, try Zeno.
Who should
not
try the Zeno Hot Spot
Like any spot
treatment, the Zeno Hot Spot is a quick fix at best. It's
not going to prevent future blemishes or change your body in
any way that will stop acne from coming back. Other than
this, the biggest downside to the device is simply the
amount of hassle that using it can be if you have moderate
to severe acne. 2 1/2 minutes per blemish isn't so bad if
you only get the occasional 1 or 2 spots at a time, but if
you suffer from real breakouts it can quickly become
a pain. For example, simply treating 4 pimples 4 times per
day = 40 minutes. Zeno is alright to have on hand, but it's
not very practical in cases of serious acne.
